Park Neglect

  1. Pavilion rots
  2. Still major North-South route
  3. High Bridge springs
  4. Post office closes, 1976

As the passenger trains arriving at High Bridge declined and disappeared, and interest waned in the bridge, the park slid into disuse and disrepair. The importance of the bridge has never been forgotten; it is a vital link in the busiest north-south railroad route in the nation.

With fewer visitors, the village also settled down. The High Bridge post office closed in 1976.

Recently, though, business has prospered in the village of High Bridge. The trucks from High Bridge Spring Water company carry the emblem of high bridge all over the bluegrass region of Kentucky.
